We’re so happy you’re spending Shabbat with us. Shabbat is an opportunity to unplug from the week and plug into rest of all kinds. On Shabbat, we invite you to step away from school, technology, and other stressors of the week, and step into holy rest and celebration!
Every week, join Rabbi Jonah in the lobby as we transition into Shabbat with candle lighting and intention-setting. Candles will also be available all evening for you to light on your time. And in the winter, feel free to come by earlier to light candles as the sun sets.
Welcome Shabbat with prayer in either our Reform or Conservative services every Friday night. We do our best to be accessible and uplifting for the whole community and we thrive on your feedback! Interested in leading a part of the service? Want to bring a melody you love? A poem you want to share? Some words of Torah to teach? Get in touch with Rabbi Jonah or any of the minyan chairs if you want to do or learn how to do any of those! If you want to start (or re-start!) a new minyan/service please also reach out to Rabbi Jonah.
There is always a place for you and around our Shabbat table! Bring your friends (all students are welcome!) or make new ones at Hillel every week for a delicious kosher Shabbat dinner. Registration is required for Shabbat dinner the Wednesday before, so make sure to follow us on social media and sign up for our email newsletter for registration links. We always wrap up Friday nights with dessert, board games, and more Shabbat vibes at 8. We would love to see you for every and any part of Friday night you can make it for!
