Challah for Hunger brings students together to bake and sell challah to raise money for and awareness of social justice issues. Every other week, we gather at Tufts Hillel to make dough, braid, bake, and sell the loaves.

Challah For Hunger is a national, non-profit organization that uses our love of challah to raise money for humanitarian aid. Half of the funds we raise supportĀ Family Table: Jewish Response to Hunger. The other half goes to a humanitarian cause that we choose each year.

We bake and sell many full-size and mini loaves of challah, often in creative seasonal flavors like chocolate chip, peanut butter-chocolate chip, parsley-sage-rosemary-and-thyme, cinnamon sugar, and sun-dried tomato.

For volunteers and customers, Challah for Hunger is an opportunity to be involved in a fun and dedicated community. We are working to address humanitarian issues, developing new skills like baking and marketing, gaining leadership experience, engaging in tzedakah, and becoming more involved in advocacy and activism.
